href=\"\/locations\/uchealth-emergency-department-memorial-hospital-central\">Memorial Hospital Central<\/a> locations. According to the American College of Emergency Physicians, the following warning signs indicate a medical emergency:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Any sudden or severe pain.<\/li>\n<li>Changes in vision.<\/li>\n<li>Chest or upper abdominal pain or pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Coughing or vomiting.<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath.<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty speaking, confusion, changes in mental status.<\/li>\n<li>Fainting, sudden dizziness or weakness.<\/li>\n<li>Severe or persistent vomiting or diarrhea.<\/li>\n<li>Suicidal feelings.<\/li>\n<li>Uncontrolled bleeding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Minor sports injuries and illnesses including fevers, ear infections flu and sprains can be diagnosed and treated by a primary care or urgent care physician.<\/p>\n<p>Our emergency department at Memorial Hospital is consistently one of the busiest in Colorado. Last year alone, nearly 100,000 patients were seen in the emergency department at Memorial Hospital Central. Our cardiac alert program has gained national attention for the average time it takes (60 minutes) for a cardiac patient to arrive at the hospital and have a wire inserted to remove blockage.
