As a state-designated Level I Trauma Center, MCR is a referral center for the region as well as a consultative and educational resource for other hospitals in a multistate region.<\/p>\n<p>We are a leader in trauma education, injury prevention and community outreach. We have a dedicated trauma research department, and we partner with the University of Colorado Medical Residency program.<\/p>\n<h3>What is a Level I Trauma Center?<\/h3>\n<p>A Level I Trauma Center can provide the most comprehensive care to any injured patient. A Level I Trauma Center is considered a tertiary care facility that serves as a central \u201creceiving\u201d hospital for smaller or rural hospitals for all types of injured patients. Rapid access to multidisciplinary physicians and specialties is the cornerstone of a Level I program.
