The Emergency Department at UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies is a Level I Trauma Center<\/a>. This means we are set up to either treat or stabilize all emergency conditions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For emergency medical care, call 911.<\/em><\/h4>\n

According to the American College of Emergency Physicians, the following warning signs indicate a medical emergency:<\/p>\n

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath.<\/li>\n
  • Chest or upper abdominal pain or pressure.<\/li>\n
  • Fainting, sudden dizziness or weakness.<\/li>\n
  • Changes in vision.<\/li>\n
  • Difficulty speaking, confusion, changes in mental status.<\/li>\n
  • Any sudden or severe pain.<\/li>\n
  • Uncontrolled bleeding.<\/li>\n
  • Severe or persistent vomiting or diarrhea.<\/li>\n
  • Coughing or vomiting.<\/li>\n
