Their duties include inpatient consultations, seeing patients in the obstetric emergency department, monitoring laboring patients, providing care as required, and responding to precipitous deliveries and emergencies. They can also provide inpatient care during the antepartum and postpartum periods. These highly skilled hospitalists do not replace the care patients receive from their regular OB physician. Instead, they serve as an extension of the patient\u2019s regular OB physician.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our dedicated and skilled OB hospitalists are in the hospital 24\/7 to ensure consistent, timely care for every patient entering the labor and delivery unit and obstetric emergency department. Also, they attend to patients who present to the hospital with gynecological emergencies and can perform surgery if needed. Their presence reduces wait times and delays in providing care, improves outcomes, and increases patient satisfaction.
