Dr. Mariya Balon joined the team of providers at UCHealth. She specializes in providing comprehensive care for acutely ill hospitalized patients. “One of the most fulfilling aspects of working in hospital medicine is the reward of directly diagnosing and treating my patients and seeing them recover under my care,” she said.
Dr. Balon is interested in acute and chronic diseases, liver disease, heart failure, diabetes, stroke and hypertension to name a few. Focusing on patient education and counseling with the goal of therapeutic treatment and decreasing readmission rate is one of her objectives.
She earned a doctorate in medicine from Moscow Medical Academy, Russia and completed her internal medicine residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
