Nurse Practitioner Melinda joined the UCHealth Neurology team at Memorial in Colorado Springs.
She believes that patient care is a work of the heart, as it is individualized and encompasses mind, body and spirit. Her care philosophy involves the patient and their support system. “Now as a Nurse Practitioner I want to continue caring for these patients and make an even greater impact,” she said.
McClendon earned a degree from the nurse practitioner studies program at University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was raised in Colorado and enjoys traveling, hiking, paddle boarding and running with her dog. She likes to spend time with friends and family, gardening, and cooking. She is a Denver Broncos fan and loves watching a good football game.
She has served for over 15 years in the Air Force Reserves, working in medical units that assist with the transportation and movement of injured and ill service members and coalition forces.

Considero que tratar a pacientes con trastornos neurológicos es gratificante e interesante. Siempre me ha interesado la neurología. Como enfermera, trabajé con un equipo de accidentes cerebrovasculares y neurología en una unidad de cuidados intensivos. Ahora, como enfermera practicante, quiero seguir cuidando a estos pacientes y tener un impacto aún mayor.
