I am board-certified in Rheumatology and Integrative Medicine. After a residency in Internal Medicine, I completed a fellowship in Rheumatology in order to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal disease and systemic autoimmune conditions, commonly referred to as rheumatic diseases. Rheumatic diseases can be challenging to diagnose and the process is not always straightforward. These diseases affect many organ systems, the musculoskeletal system being just one.

It is important to spend time with my patients, giving a detailed evaluation, working toward the appropriate diagnosis of rheumatic disease, and providing a comprehensive treatment plan if established.

Because we do not know what causes autoimmune disease and knowing that lifestyle drives our health, I decided to do a fellowship in Integrative Medicine. Integrative Medicine is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person, including all aspects of lifestyle. With Integrative Medicine, I am able to take a holistic approach to patient care, making use of all appropriate therapies, whether conventional or complementary, if informed by evidence. Integrative modalities that I commonly use are nutrition, mind-body medicine, supplements and movement.
